A small space requires inventive decoration

Our home is a small studio apartment, but we still have a separate kitchen that also accommodates a dining table. The living room has an alcove for a double bed. We don't have a lot of floor space, so, loving details, I ended up decorating the walls. The walls have shelves, paintings and other wall decorations on them.

Ethnic details enrich Scandinavian décor

My decor is a relaxed mix of Scandinavian and bohemian. I like Scandinavian neutral tones as well as ethnic details in the interior. My interior has a very neutral and earthy color palette that I enhance with individual, more colorful details according to my current mindset. When decorating, consider the color palette of your home. If you are going for a harmonious look, it is best to start the decoration with just a few primary colors. In addition, you can take a couple of accent colors and use them in moderation.

When the primary color palette is always the same and the accent colors are used carefully, you can easily change and brighten the accent colors, for example depending on the season. My interior has four main colors. In addition, I use accent colors, for example, on decorative pillows and paintings.

Privacy with blinds

Visor blinds are an important part of my interior. The biggest problem with our apartment is its obscurity, but for privacy, the blinds are and absolute must. Translucent blinds bring the privacy you need while still allowing a lot of light into the home. The best thing about them is that they can be opened from both the bottom and the top! In most cases, we keep the blinds half open from above.

My name is Satu Gülle and I live in 31 square meter studio flat with my husband and our 2.5-year-old child. My interest in interior design started when I wanted to paint the red wall in our living room in a light color. Originally, I was going to paint only that wall, but soon I wanted to change a couple pieces of furniture too.
